Our Lady Of Rosary Church

Navelim's church was first built by the Jesuits in the 1590s; the present, Portuguese-style whitewashed structure was constructed later on when the older building became too small.
According to legend, this church was built in mud similar to the other churches in Salcete between 1594 and 1598. The builders were Jesuits and it was financed by the villagers.

The church is believed to have been built on the ruins of a Hindu temple, and as a result it was attacked on two occasions in 1717 and1739 by Maratha ruler Vyakatra Ghorpade.

Miracles of Our Lady of Rosary

Devotion of Our Lady of Rosary, and carrying the Rosary has protected many people in miraculous ways. The celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Rosary begins every third Wednesday in November. This devotion of Our Lady comprises an extensive celebration which begins with traditional processions and novenas.

HOLY CROSS CHURCH, VERNA - GOA The Holy cross church, Verna - Goa is one of the popular Goan churches and is locally known as the 'Verna church' in Goa. The first version of the Holy cross church according to historical records was in 1568. The Holy cross church lies in the hearts of the village of Verna. The Verna church is build in the traditional manner over looking the large church square. It has been build in three different places since the original construction. BISHOPS PALACE

The Bishops Palace also known as the Patriarcal Palace is situated in Altinho the hillock overlooking the city of Panaji. It is one of the main attraction in this area and is the residence of the Archbishop of Goa. In order to reflect the elevation of the Archbishop to a Patriarch, the Bishop's Palace was constructed.
