Corjuem Fort
It is located near Mapusa river in Aldona village.Corjuem fort is one of the main forts build by Portuguese in 1705 and stands 4 km away from Pomburpa. Although this is one of the smaller forts in Goa, it has gained a name for itself, not only for being one of two inlands forts which has survived into the 21st century but also for the panoramic vistas that can be seen from its ramparts. The fort provides a beautiful view of inland and demonstrates it's strategic importance.
The fort has an architectural significance as it is constructed of laterite stones. It is build in a square shape, it has bastions at each of the four corners with embrasures for cannons. It's history, architectural significance makes this fort a popular spot in Goa.
