Chapel of St Sebastian in Fontainhas, Goa


The Chapel of St Sebastian, erected in 1880, it was build at the Portuguese time and it is located at the southern end of the Fontainhas. It was traditionally the locale for the annual street festival of the Feast of Our Lady of Livrament. An old well exists in its precincts.

The chapel is well preserved and has a very large crucifix, which was once fixed at the Palace of the Inquisition in Old Goa; earlier, it was in the palace of Adil Shah but later moved to this chapel when the Viceroy moved out to Cabo.

Patto Bridge

  Patto Bridge The Patto bridge a historic monument built by the Portuguese is a small bridge in Panjim the capital city of Goa. The Patto bridge is the extension of the causeway known as Ponte de Linhares (‘ Ponte’ in Portuguese means Bridge ) that is about 3.2 kms long and is considered to be one of the longest bridge in South Asia.               HOLY CROSS CHURCH, VERNA - GOA      The Holy cross church, Verna - Goa is one of the popular Goan churches and is locally known as the 'Verna church' in Goa. The first version of the Holy cross church according to historical records was in 1568. The Holy cross church lies in the hearts of the village of Verna.      The Verna church is build in the traditional manner over looking the large church square. It has been build in three different places since the original construction.
